Spring Break 2010

For spring break this year, we were lucky enough to be invited to go to Maui with my parents and little brother. It was so much fun!! This was Cameron's first trip to Hawaii and my first time to Maui. We really enjoyed ourselves, we did lots of snorkeling and we were able to see turtles, eels, a squid, and lots and lots of cool fish. One of the coolest parts about snorkeling was when you dove down into the ocean and listened, you could hear the whales singing to each other.


One day, we made the hike to the blowhole, it was way cool! We hiked on this volcanic rock out to a cliff that dropped off into the ocean. When the waves came, the water splashed up through a hole in the rock and created a blowhole like effect. It was super cool!! While we were there we noticed these rainbows and then it started raining. By raining I mean it was a down pour, you would have thought we jumped in the water!! Aren't you supposed to see a rainbow after the rain not before?

We were also able to drive the road to Hana. I really enjoyed this day, not really the driving but I did really like the hiking to various waterfalls and such. Also, if you decide to take the road to Hana, I think it's important to know that Hana the actual place isn't all that neat, but the stops along the way are super fun! We also were able to do some skimboarding at a beach in Hana. That was good because it's been forever since we've been. Cameron did some boogie boarding and was pleased with some of his good rides.




I have always loved watching for deer growing up. In Maui we were able to watch for whales! It was the greatest thing ever. We would just be sitting on the beach enjoying the ocean when all of a sudden a huge whale would just jump up and make a huge splash. We went on a whale watching tour and we were able to see a competition pod! They were so close to our boat, it was crazy!!

We also, did a lot of lounging around at the beach and lots of eating. We had so much fun and can't wait till we can one day return!! Thanks Mom and Dad for taking us!! We love you!
